W-what? When? That feels to forced. She never shared a “moment” with him, only that he was kind to her when she was a murderous killing machine and that he spared her….but that was it? So if other dude comes say like the other cadet and is more kind is she gonna marry that one instead?

@saeshu. then, what if you're in her position? what if you are accused of being a serial killer, no one believes you, there is a lot of false evidence pointing to you. Then, one day suddenly someone helps you get free from all that, how do you feel?

@Aire Celestine It’s more about the execution of the plot. From the reader’s perspective, it does feel sudden, mainly because these two have barely interacted. And by “interaction,” I mean actual two-way communication (among other forms), not just angst-filled silence, hidden feelings, and endless monologues. From what we’ve seen so far, that’s pretty much all they’ve been doing. Another thing is what I call the saviour effect. Basically, when someone helps you in a big way, it’s easy to mix up the “wow, they saved me” feelings with romance. Like if a doctor saves your life, you might feel like you’re in love, but really it’s just gratitude or admiration. In this case, he did save her when no one else believed in her, he stood up for her, etc. And yes, it’s possible her feelings go deeper than that, maybe due to other unseen events. But from a visual storytelling perspective, none of that has been clearly shown to the audience. That’s why it feels like it just came out of nowhere.
